MONTHLY CHALLENGE

This month’s challenge is to GO ON A FUN HOLIDAY DATE!

What if you stripped away all the layers that have been keeping you from enjoying dating for what it’s meant to be, which is about getting to know someone right there in the moment.

Your challenge this month is to go on a fun holiday date! People are more open to saying yes to invitations this time of year and that created a great opportunity for you! Let’s make it happen.

Step 1: Find a date
Before you say ‘that’s the hard part’, know that you definitely have options. Here are some tips to get the wheels spinning.

Consider if there’s anyone you’ve…

  • Had your eye on for a while, maybe from your gym or a friend of a friend.

  • Been chatting with for far too long on a dating app and it’s time to make a move.

  • Been on a few dates with in the past and things fizzled out but there was no real reason for it.

  • Matched with at a previous speed dating event but never contacted. (Now it a great time to pull up those old matches emails. They’re like a modern day little black book.)

Step 2. Set yourself up to win
Spend a bit of time thinking up a plan that would be hard for someone to say no to. Look up local events or shows with a festive theme. See if there’s a Christmas market in town. Consider restaurants or lounges that are known for their beautiful holiday decor. Find a unique activity or workshop, such as making chocolate or a wine tasting.

Step 3. Ask them out!
Everything is now in place to put your plan in motion. Be charming and pleasant when you do so, but also direct so there’s little room for ambiguity on their part. You don’t want to be waiting around for a confirmation.

Step 4. It’s your treat.
Make no mistake, this date is on YOU. Go in ready and happy to pay for all you’ve planned. Once you get together, be open about the date being your treat! (Pro tip: stating this upfront will alleviate any awkwardness when there’s a bill to pay, which is always a good thing.)

Step 5. No pressure allowed
Remember why you’re going on this date – to have fun and connect with someone during this most wonderful time of year. It’s not about expectations, it’s not about getting a second date, it’s not about you. Set your intention to do whatever it takes to have an enjoyable time together – and thats it!
